vintage boys room makeover

I love making our home as cozy as possible! I was so excited to redo our boys room into a vintage war room! Both my boys love all things history and war so I knew their room needed to reflect that.

Here is a before photo of their room. It was unpleasing to the eye and was actual chaos most days. I knew I wanted to brighten up the room with some paint & make the trim a muted color. When we bought our home every single room had this gray paint and it is actually my least favorite color in my home. I feel like gray paint makes rooms look very dark and cloudy. So off to lowes we went for supplies!

Farrow and Ball has some of my favorite paint colors but their paint is very expensive to buy from their website so I got a free sample card from their website and just have lowes color match for me!

Room paint colors:

walls- antique white

trim, doors & peg boards: svette sage

*both Farrow and Ball paint colors matched at lowe's

their peg wall was actually wayyy easier than I thought it would be! It was just a 1/3 board with screw in pegs from amazon [all things linked at end of post] and then I nail gunned the boards in making sure to use a leveler. Once they were attached I went back and found the studs to secure the boards with some screws.

The pictures from this. room are all thrifted from goodwill or local thrift shops from us! I also will buy pictures thrifted just to use the frames and print things from etsy or online! Picture frames can get really expensive so I usually am always picking up some for $1 here and there to have on hand.
